Mobile Operating System Trends and Future of Java

If you are regular reader of technological news, you probably know that market is showing healthy signs for growth of Mobile Operating Systems. If you start comparing current time and time couple of years before, you will notice that there is a huge change in the way people are using technology.

This period is mostly being seen as the period of Operating Systems. If you start counting smart phone and tablet market there are many emerging Operating Systems like Samsung Bada, Intel's MeeGo, Nokia's Maemo, HP's WebOS and there are some popular choices in OS like Android, Symbian, iOS, etc.
Mobile OS Current Market Share

If you have a look at Gartner's report, you will get an idea of trends and market shares of Mobile Operating Systems and their future in nearby future.

The report shows positive signs towards growth in Android, Windows and iOS Operating Systems. This is a good news for the JAVA communities as most of the applications built for smart phones and tables are built with JAVA. As you know Android heavily supports application development in JAVA, it's market share is expected to approximately 50% of global market share.

So, in a constantly changing environment of technology, if you are a JAVA developer you can be sure you have a good future ahead.

Challenges for Developers

No doubt there is a good market ahead for JAVA Developers. But it's not enough to be dependent upon the traditional methods of learning as they are slow compared with the technological growth. That's where the roles of communities like Java User Group Nagpur becomes very important.

These user groups have not only started filling gaps in the current education system, but also have benefited developers in many way. So if you are a person who care about JAVA and haven't joined JUG Nagpur yet, there are many reasons why you should seriously consider joining JUG Nagpur.

Hope to see you there!
